Discussion

Next steps for project? That’s part of what we’ll figure out in session.

Anticipating cargo flights. Being proactive to have Langley innovation to meet this need, with partners.

Fill in gaps for SLS to get to Mars Evolvable Architecture needs.

MEL for USA to use to analyze new concept – Tim and Dave can use their tools

Trade study from September (USA slides) – 4 fairings. Which one will get you to 40 metric tons to lunar orbit.

We want one concept (and accompanying partnering needs to develop, next steps) that improves on those chosen, using Langley strengths.

Brainstorming areas: open constraints put on trade, how to deploy, nosecone design, etc. improvements, Co-manifested or stand-alone?

May only find areas to look into, but not able to create a different concept. – Define decision point during session
